AIChE October Meeting and Social

On Friday October 22, AIChE will hold its annual social with dinner at Camberley’s Martha Washington Inn followed by the play Wuthering Heights at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA. Cocktails will be served in a private parlor at the Martha Washington Inn beginning at 6:30 PM. Dinner will be served at 7:00 P.M. and will be a buffet style similar to years past. Total cost of the buffet (meal, tax and gratuity) will be less than $30/person (the season’s menu and price list is currently being updated by the chef). This price reflects a partial subsidy by AIChE.

Following dinner, the group will proceed to the Barter Theatre across the street to view Wuthering Heights, an adaptation of Emily Bronte’s novel by Richard Rose (also creator of Dracula! and Frankenstein at the Barter). "A stunning version of Bronte’s immortal love story set amid the bleak beauty of Haworth Manor, a landscape ruled by the wild and terrible figure of Heathcliff. This tale of his searing passion for the beautiful Catherine Earnshaw has the vividness of a nightmare, the beauty and simplicity of an old ballad, and the depth and intensity of ancient tragedy. A spellbinding thriller?" Tickets will be $18/person.

Reservations should be made with Steve Kennedy , B-348, Eastman Chemical Company, P.O. Box 1972, Kingsport, TN 37662 or David Denton, B-150B, Eastman Chemical Company, P.O.
