THE TSPE TIMES

June 2003

¾ TSPE Member Survey ¾

The State Board has begun a process of strategic planning for the future of our organization.  As part of this evaluation, the Board is collecting information on the demographics of our organization’s members and the opinions of our members on the value of membership.  This information will be analyzed and used in the process of formulating a strategic plan heading into the 2003-2004 fiscal year.

The purpose of this survey is to gain insight into the perception of the value of membership in TSPE and/or other professional societies.  Your answers will assist in developing purpose and strategies to improve and increase membership in TSPE.  We encourage you to enter comments if other issues or concerns are not addressed.  The survey can be downloaded (the survey), completed electronically and sent to schallon@eastman.com.  Hardcopy versions of the survey should be sent care of

¾ TSPE Sustaining Memberships  ¾

The State organization needs to raise money to ensure the future health of TSPE.  The TSPE Board of Directors has identified increased Sustaining Members as one route to accomplish this objective.  In that light , Alton Hethcoat has agreed to Chair a Task Force to recruit Sustaining Members for TSPE.  But…We need YOUR help.  Do you deal with suppliers of materials, services, etc that may be interested in advertising their products to TSPE members?  If so, you may have a good candidate for TSPE Sustaining Membership.

Companies, firms, institutions, and organizations may be Sustaining Members of TSPE if they have high ethical standards, are supportive of TSPE goals and are willing to help promote the goals, policies, and programs of the Society.  The cost is $350 a year based on a calendar year.  The benefits to sustaining members include: Listing on the TSPE homepage with a link to the Sustaining Member company, access to TSPE membership data (reselling of information is prohibited), one free article in the TSPE newsletter, and more.  If you work for a company that may be interested or know of a company that may be interested please contact Candy Toler at ctoler@tnec.org or 615-242-2486.
